Zardozi is a traditional form of hand embroidery that involves elaborate and intricate needlework using gold, silver, and metallic threads, along with stones, pearls, beads, and sequins. It's popular in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, especially in bridal wear, sherwanis, and festive garments.
Heres a list of all types of Zardozi work done by hand:
Dabka Work
Coiled spring-type metal wire sewn onto the fabric.
Very detailed, creates a raised, 3D effect.
Katori Work
Use of small metal sequins (katoris) to add shine.
Often used in floral or circular patterns.
Nakshi Work
Flat, twisted metallic wire used for detailed outlining.
Gives a sharp and precise finish.
Tikki Work
Flat sequins attached with threads.
Adds shimmer; often combined with beadwork.
Salma Work
